New to almost all of it

I own a stock 2011 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which has travelled from as southeast as Moab to the beaches in Oregon from easy trail blazing to moderate difficulty trails...too scared to try difficult trails in a stock Jeep. I live in Syracuse and know how to change the oil and that is about where I stop mechanically. Up until recently I always played a spotter/passenger role in my off-roading experiences so I lacked knowledge in when to hit all those fancy buttons and when not to and found most of it out through trial and error...my poor Jeep! This year I have fallen in love with my Jeep over and over again. I like to take the roof off and cruise around town or down to SLC as well as take the roof and doors off to trail blaze. I came to this club to find more Jeep owners to trail blaze with and that know more trails other then 5 mile pass and American Fork Canyon...nothing wrong with those trails just looking for new experiences. I am also tired of trail blazing with those Toyota owners who spend more time attempting trail challenges then actually riding the trails! I love you Toyota owners but get a real off-road vehicle already! I also joined the club for advice on upgrades but not too fancy as I am a single mom with one vehicle so I must be smart about it. I look forward to the advice and friendships I hope to build.

Single mom who Jeeps? Cool.

You've got a Rubicon, so you're already off to a fantastic start. The smartest thing to do would be to only investigate upgrades you actually need. In other words, wait until you see a weakness and then we'll discuss economical ways to compensate. If your Jeep can currently do everything you want it to, well, then there's no need to upgrade.

That feeling I often relate to being on a motorcycle and how it feels so freeing with the only difference being I have 4 wheels and am alot safer. Oh and night cruising is an even better experience with the roof off just absolutely amazing! Thanks for the welcomes! I am so excited to get out there and have more fun and meet more fellow off-roaders even you pesky Toyota owners! It's all out of love I promise! For the record all the things I have done to my Jeep the worst damage I have is from rescuing a Toyota Tacoma hence the jokes.

My kids are 10 & 9 a boy and a girl. They are not huge fans so they come with me maybe only half the time...they think its scary, windy, cold etc. but for sure would love to get out and meet new families etc!

welcome to the wonderful world of offroad, I would recommend attending some of the organized events you will find on this site, with your children, then focus on learning all the sports safety issues first, and as you meet more families in this sport your kids will start to enjoy it when they meet kids thier age to hang with on the trail.

Welcome. You should really just focus your bashing on rigs worth bashing...Fords for one are really worth the effort. Most of the Toyota guys here don't even notice anymore.
