i'm sure advance 4wd can do it. they shortened an axle for me and did a great job. can't even guess what it'd cost.

The material only is like $30-40 a foot. So when you hear $300-400, you'll know why.

shortening is a LOT easier than retubing. I'll shorten a Waggy housing to TJ width for $100 and doesn't even take 2 hours.

have you got some kind of like.. threaded bar w/pucks to press everything back together and then weld it up?

Retubing? Maybe tera they have a press. Getting the old one out is tricky.

That's a clean bare housing, where all I need to do is cut the knuckles off, shorten the tubes, clean up the knuckles and put them back on. Takes me about an hour and half. But if I have to mess with shafts, outers, grease, brackets, etc. then it goes up because so does my involvement.
yeah, gotta have a press to at least push the new tube in, if not pull the old one out as well.

No offense, but you want to press it in. Off the top of my head, I believe Spicer uses .007" of interferrence on their tubes, housings, and knuckles.

i didnt know that i have never done one before i just know we can. I can machine it tight enough to where you would still have to press it in
