My brother and I are in the process of making an '86 Ford Bronco 2 into a rig suitable for EJS. :) I dont know what the heck to do with the front suspension. Here are some picks of what it looks like. I think that a solid axle would be the best choice, what do u guys think? Does anyone know where i can get a solid axle for this bronco? if so, how much? THanks! :)

I've seen Bronco 2s and Rangers done with leaf springs and dana 44s. What is your capability and experience? What do you want the rig to be when you are done? A reverse cut 60 with coilovers and a four link would be cool. :D

are you trying to keep your same axle width? or are you going full width? What are you doing in the rear? My friend is doing a 44/9 full width on a ranger, He might be able to answer questions for you if you wanted to do the 44

Is it a bad idea to have different width sizes? And does anyone know about the gear ratio in the rear axle of my b2? Do they make Dana44s that would match up? Do the teath on the drive shaft match up with the d44? If all of this isnt a problem, does anyone know where i can pick up a D44 for the front? THanks for the help.

Different axle widths are not a problem. Many cars come stock with slightly different axle widths. My front is 3 inches or so wider than my rear. There is a way to tell your gear ratio (if it has been left stock) by the sticker in the door jam. Search around the Ranger/B2 sites and you'll find a chart that will tell you. Teeth of the driveshaft? Sorry, that doesn't compute. You will almost certaintly need to build/have built a new drive shaft. Not only because the 44 will probably use a different u-joint, but also because your stock driveshaft probably does not have enough travel for a solid axle suspension.

Allright, im going to go with the D44 if i can get a hold of one in time. The axle needs to have a 4.10 gear ratio. The diff needs to be on the drivers side. Is there anyone out there who would like to get one off of their hands? Thanks a ton!! I was also woundering if you know of a good size for a lift? I dont know what would be a perfect size. right now i have 33's that im going to put on. and there is nothing in the back for the tire to hit, and the front just has...well not much, everything has been ripped off. thanks for your help.

IMHO russ, you don't have time to do this before ejs. With the other list of stuf that needs to be done as well as other things I think might need to be done, what does everyone else think?
Start/finish roll cage, get the engine running, (I think inboard those rear springs) get seat belts put in, get the tow hooks put in, get the fuel tank mounted, get your front grill/radiator protector done. But I will talk to you tommorow when you bring it to the auto shop and get a better list from there.
What O.D. / wall thickness tubing did you get again? I can't wait to get working on that cage.

I would have to agree. It seems to be a little above your head.
