So i am going on my first trip to moab the 23rd to the 27th and was just informed that the house we were going to stay at wont let us stay with them because we have to many people. So is anybody willing to let us throw a tent up in their front yard for a few nights? or a place to camp? Were broke college kids barely making it there with gas money so please help some brothers out.

Also for a newbie with two scouts, one on 35's with a rear locker and a smaller one on 33's with limited slips front and rear what are some trails that we should go on? Thanks for your help.

I am not a big camper, but I know there's quite a bit of free camping around Moab. As far as trails go, Fins N Things is always a good choice in my book.

Exactly. I see camp sites all over the place. Not sure if they are free or not? You'll just have to show up and look around. There are several on your way out of town (by McD's along the road to Pritchett, etc.).

As for trails? There are lots of them. Hells Revenge, Fins n Things, Golden Spike, etc. There's some fun stuff out at Area BFE, too - Green Day, Minor Threat, etc.

 I've paid my dues. I've spent alot of time and money working on, under and around the good old IH. I do have a soft spot in my heart for the old Scout's, but my wife would kick me out if she new it.;) But I will tell you, stay away from Kane's Creek. My friends Scout would attempt suicide every time we headed towards the trail:eek:. Fins-n-things is a great one to start on, Poison Spider Mesa is also a great trail. Have fun!

most of the camping down the kane creek road (towards pritchett) is pay. Herzog and I found that one out the hardway one morning....

Poisen Spider is a good beginners trail too.
