I am no longer shipping things!!

Just sold a driveline on ebay and had the buyer tell me that usps gave them and empty box with nothing in it. Why deliver a box that has a whole in it?

I also just sold lights to someone on here but upon trying to ship them usps I made the mistake of giving them to a mailman that had it in his truck for a couple days. Upon investigating this ive found out that he had it in his truck and asked one of the guys subbing in for him to give it back to me due to something wrong with the label and they forgot. Then because this didnt work out I decided to send the lights ups today and instead of $4 or so it cost about 4 times as much which is basically how much I got from the lights.


Damn the shipping companies. I am no longer shipping anything outside of an envelope.

How can there be a whole in the box? Was the box whole, or was there a hole?

Sounds like you may need to rethink your packaging and deliver your packages directly to an office rather than mail person.

Also, keep in mind that you are ranting about a highly functional and efficient government run program. Perhaps try a company not owned and operated by the Federal Gov.

I work for the postal service........first you need tape up your package better and put a label on the parts and box, if the drive line fell out, im sure if broke out on a sorting machine so the box continues and the drive line ends up in a tub of other unclaimed parts that goes to the trash if not claimed.
Its not uncomon for a custormer to send a photo email to the office trying to locate espensive items that got lost.

I've always packaged my products super well. But still have had issues with UPS. Mainly damage to the box and super high shipping rates. I have been super impressed with the postal service I love their flat rate shipping. I have sent super heavy items (ring/pinion, lockers, carriers etc) that would be outrageous through anywhere else but they fit in a $15 flat rate box rather well.

The box I had the driveline in was taped up VERY well to prevent this due to pas mistakes of mine and the driveline wasnt loose in the box to help prevent it sliding around and getting momentum to punch through. Im just very sick of sending boxes and having issues nearly ALL the time.

I'm a big fan of UPS, and I always insure my packages, which saves my butt if something like that happens.

I use USPS for a lot of the stuff I ship. Way cheaper and I've found them just as reliable as UPS. I refuse to use FedEx. With UPS, I've shipped stuff, printed the label out here (using my account so it's all pre-paid) taken it to a UPS store and dropped it off. When my customer called me several days later to find out where the shipment was because the tracking number I gave him didn't have any updates on it. I went to the UPS store and it was still sitting on the counter where the employee left it...that happened a couple times at different UPS Store locations. That really swayed me to start using USPS more. I do hate the USPS tracking (or lack of). Usually you get an update when you ship it, and a day or two after it arrives.

I ship quite a few things both USPS and UPS and don't have many problems. The insurance with USPS is useless.

I stopped shipping stuff I sell on eBay over seas because I always ran into problems. If the customer doesn't buy though eBay then I will still ship overseas. For some reason they don't try to rip me off.

I used to use FedX......then I watched Castaway. Never again! When that stupid Douchey McRodsniffer Tom Hanks just watched Wilson float away I knew I could never respect FedX again. Any company that would breed that sort of throwaway attitude toward a best friend is not worth supporting. Plus, they kept shipping him video tapes and ice skates and crap like that. Why wouldn't they just send him a dang match or a sat phone or something. Oh and I know what you are thinking, "they didn't ship him that stuff it is what was on board the plane when it went down". Well, of course that is the only part of the castaway documentary FedX will let you see. Stop drinking the Kool-aid and wake up!

My best shippers have been friends headed in the direction of the desired destination. I sent a set of Jeep lift springs from Wyoming to North Dakota via a friend with instructions to pitch them into the weeds at a certain off ramp - perfect delivery, fast and cheap!

I ship a lot for someone without a business or shipping account and can count on one hand how many times in 10 years I have had any issues with a shipper, if it doesn't fit in a flat rate box it goes Fedex Ground.

My dad was shipping cast bullets in the flat rate boxes. We're talking 50 pounds in the smaller boxes. They always shipped them and he never had any problems.
