Has anybody explored the area in and around promontory. There are alot of dirt roads around the area. Seems like there would be some good wheeling out there some were. Oops!!!! I meant north west.

My friends in laws have some land out there. He says there are some good wheeling places on the property. With that in mind I was hoping there would be other places.

There are plenty of rock outcroppings in the area and dry washes, but unless you were on Private property, there are no traditional style 4wd trails out there. But that being said, it is an awesome place to explore with some interesting history. And just a little jog north over the border, City of the rocks is one of my all time favorite areas.

As people have said, it's mostly just 2WD graded dirt roads that only get dicey in the wet. Lots of stuff to explore though. If you're interested in the area, you should head out to Freeze Your Tail Off 4. After the campout in the morning a group of us will be heading home over the old Transcontinental Railroad grade towards Brigahm City.

I need to get out to city of rocks. I hear it is amazing and has some killer rock climbing.
