Jeep o2 sensor questions.....

on my 2006 LJ with a 4.0

I hooked up torque pro on my cell and put the bluetooth in the data port and going thru all the different sensors I came across the o2 voltages... on bank 1 I get a meter reading that jumps all over the board while the bank two is more steady.. so I am thinking that the bank one is going bad or is bad...

I go to orielly's and they list upstream and downstream sensors... but the jeep only has the two on the exhaust tubes below the manifold.... so we dug in a bit deeper and they list two different ones for the upstream ones...

So I went to autozone and they are the same way... so is Napa...

Are they two different models? I would think they would be the same... HELP!!!

I think you have more than 2 02 sensors on that. Youb1r jeep has the two smaller convertors that are part of the manifold right? Does you data give you someting like a b1s1(bank 1 sensor 1) or b1s2(bank 1 sensor 2) Down stream o2 sensors do not typically switch as fast as the upstream

You should have an upstream sensor for each bank and a downstream sensor after each cat.
If the sensor is cylcing quickly above and below half a volt, it's working properly. Downstream sensors typically cycle very slowly to show that the cat is functioning.
Also, checking an o2 sensor with a multimeter doesnt really tell you anything since they typically cycle much faster than any meter will update.

Sounds to me like you're about to waste your money.

I still need to go look under the jeep but what I do know is there are two just after the manifold... they are the upstream front and rear... then after that I will know tomorrow when I climb underneath.

Mikegyver I am not using a meter to test the sensors... I have an app on my cellphone that takes the readings from the ECU and displays them.

Toad I do have a bank 1 sensor 1 and 2 and a bank 2 sensor 1 and 2 on the app that are all showing different readings so maybe I do have 4 and I am just not aware of them... I am use to my old cj7 that doesn't have any at all... lo

ok I found the other two sensors under the exhaust manifold... so there are 4... 2 upstream and 2 down stream...

No it does not show closed/open loop
