That is a good article... Someone should write up the hundreds that are this way in Moab. ie mountain bikers/hikers falling and getting seriously hurt and 'the bad guy' saves the day.

I (Modified XJ) have hauled several injured bikers out of the canyons around Moab. I have also given much needed water to a large number of hikers and bikers who underestimated the amount of water they would need.

Those who would shut down these trails to motor vehicles point out that the wilderness designation allows for motor vehicles to be used for rescue. What they fail to realize is that if trails are not maintained for vehicle use, they quickly become impassable.
