Wife brought the 95 Grand Cherokee w/ the 318 (5.2L) home yesterday with oil pouring from the back of the engine. I assumed rear main since I could not find another source. Pulled it apart today. Nothing visible wrong with the rear main, although I still supect it. Anyone know of another source of a major leak possibility on the rean of this engine?

Thanks!

Well, it was not the main. Put a new one in, fired it up. Pouring oil off the passenger side of the bell housing from somewhere above mid line of the engine. I will check the intake as suggested. It simply too $#@! tight in that engine compartment...

sounds like intake to me... fun to fix that, too LOL

I once had to get a blown motor fixed in a work truck, on the job... shop that did it didn't seal the rear of the intake, so it was pouring oil right down that whole side of the motor, all over the headers, etc etc.

Easy enough to fix, just a b*tch to get to it to do it.

also check the oil filter.. there is a thing like a adapter that is there.. there is a bolt in the center and it holds the oil filter assy in .. there is an o ring there that leaks
