I've seen a lot of valve cover gaskets leak... Have you checked back there to make sure it is the rear main? Its probably one or the other. Leaking rear main seals are not too common on the 22RE's, but that's not saying much.

Might be loose but more likely the gasket was pinched when it was last put on. If it is the valve cover just remove it and check the gasket. How bad is the leak?

If you pay to have your oil changed... Check your drain plug, and oil Filter possible double gasket problem. otherwise I had the same type of problem on my 4.0 it ended up being 2 problems. Valve Cover Gasket, and oil pan gasket. haven't dripped a single drop of oil since.

I know its for sure not the oil pan, oil filter, or drain plug those are the first things i checked i tightened the valve cover bolts today and it slowed the leak down quite a bit they were pretty loose. i think i just need to put a new gasket on the valve cover and should be good to go. I dont think its the rear main so thats good:)
