Oil Leakage ??

Got back late last night from a run down Medano Pass and had noticed a slight oil smell coming from my 4runner. Fast fowarded to 45 minutes ago and this is waht I see under my 4runner.

Any intial thoughts of where it might be coming from? It looks like where ever it's leaking from its bad enough to have mix with some water (darn creek crossings) since it has that makeup.

I'm going to be pulling the skid later today and try to see where it's coming from. From first glance I'm unable to see where it's leaking from.

Front diff got water in it from your water crossing yesterday, and the extra oil/water capacity forced the milkshake out the breather.

That's my story.

I'd pull the front diff plug and check for water.

Front diff yes, breather no. It's bone dry.

Found the leak, it looks like one of the seals on the passenger side of the front diff took a dump. Everything else underneath was clean.

Is your breather clogged enough to cause the pressure in the case to build and pop the seal?
