Oil Pressure on the 2.5?

Hey, I had a pressure sensor go bad on the way to Lava Hot Springs this weekend. It started leaking out the sensor and through the connector, so I got a new sensor from AutoZone and installed it on the side of the road.

But when I started the motor back up the oil pressure is up around 60-75 at speed and close to 40 at idle. The oil level it o.k. and nothing seems to be wrong. Could the sensor be inaccurate? Is there a way to check the oil p.s.i. to verify the sensor reading?

Where is the Jeep 2.5 oil p.s.i normally?

In my jeep (when I had the 2.5) The stock sensor was in the middle when I was running but when I would stop it would dive and the warning buzzer came on. I drove it like that for 3 years and it never did anyhting to the engine. Didn't really answear your question did I.
Maybe you have a bad guage. It is from AutoZone

Cool, It just made me nervous when I started the motor back up and watched the pressure just climb and climb.

Naw the gauge didn't break, the pressure sensor started leaking. It usually would idle at like 20 and run at like 40.

i had a problem where my gauge would max out and get stuck, i changed that sensor and now i have diffrent readings than before.

the jeep dealership told me it is common to have diffrent readings when you change that sensor
