I have a friend who could easy be my Dad and he asked my about a what jeep does he want. He is looking for a wheeler/dd.

I don't see money as a serious problem, so I told him to get a rubicon and throw a 6" lift and a set of 35's...

What do you think?...

Any other suggestions?...

who is this guy from the start of your post Ithought you were talking about your pops. hell if the guy has the cash and can be a little patient. tell him to buy a used TJ and we'll build it better then a Rubicon. or if he's really banked tell him about Curries Helldorado. let me deal with Currie to see if I can get a better deal on it.
How was washington?
guess what happened to Nuff Said on Thanksgiving

I was thinking the same thing...dont waste time and money on a rubi...they are great for the mall cruisers...get a TJ and then throw some money at it and have a much better vehicle with better acces. and built exactly how he wants it...

I don't see the difference between a regular TJ and a Rubicon if money is not a problem? You can find a used 03 Rubi for around 23K and then you could throw a pair of 60's under it and you would still have the 4-1 t-case and also a almost brand new TJ.

because you're just wasting money if you buy a rubi and throw 60s under it...for the same cost (or cheaper) you can get a regular TJ get the same 60s and get an atlas and be money ahead...I know you wont want to admit the rubi isn't worth it so we'll leave the D30 sized axles out of it:rofl:

Money is not an issue remember?
I still am going to say that a Rubicon is a good purchase if you were looking to buy a NEW wrangler. Plus I have seen plenty of d30's hold up to 35's, which was the size of the tire that they wanted.

No a Rubi is not the ideal XTREME trail rig, but for a DD and a weekend wheeler this is an awesome purchase.

it all depends on how much he's willing to wrench on his rig... If he has a shop, and he likes to work on his rig, I'd say go with a TJ (or my XJ), over the rubicon. If he can't wrench his way out of a wet paper bag, I'd say go with the rubicon...
