Anyone else seen the first two episodes of this show with the self proclaimed 4 wheeling expert from Utah named Bill Wu? I mean really how simplistic of a fix is it to get off the trail with a busted rear half shaft. Isn't that wheeling 101.

Great idea for a show. Execution sucks just as bad as the cast. Haven't watched this weeks episode yet.

Bill Wu is probably one of the worst choices they could have made.

Where to begin? Firstoff, since when did a rear solid axle have a halfshaft? This isn't a Honda Civic ;)

Easy to be an armchair quarterback... make that real easy to be an armchair quarterback with this show but for their intended audiences, it's just what they were aiming for imo.

Billy Wu likely got his Utah snow driving "training" on a mandatory chain day to the ski resorts up Little Cottonwood Canyon :p

I wonder if Jeep wasn't the original sponsor of the show? In the episode I watched, they seemed to go out of their way not to mention Jeep or show the logo. They used "car", "4x4" and "vehicle" throughout the show. Ford sponsors "Ice Road Truckers" and they rarely miss an opportunity to mention a specific model or show a logo.

Is Wu from Utah? I thought it said in the first episode that he was from California?

Edit: 100%, Wu is a 'retired' chiropractor from San Diego, owns 6 Hummers

Every time he mentioned "half shaft" I wanted to slap him. They had that handyman jack and could have easily built a tire retainer, strapping it to the frame. There were other options I've seen used in that situation. I guess that show will have some technical appeal to novice wheelers.

This reminds me of the outrage "F-n-F" caused among the ricer crowd with all of it's technical problems. When I was one of a few guest car builders on a TV show, the producers gathered us all together and told us "this show is not about you, your expertise or your company... this show is about Chip Foose... period." With that in mind, after the show aired the credits thanked "JBL". Ugh.

This show is lame.....my 11yr old daughter asked, "How come they keep calling the Jeep a car......duh!" I told her the producer is confused, they also call Wu an offroad expert because he knows how to engage 4LO.

Did anyone catch it last week when Wu is yapping orders at Gary to clear the trail with his machete.....Gary is saying "Kill Bill, Kill Bill" with each chop!

Good TV would be for the spec-ops British dude to shove Wu under the tire to get unstuck. It can only get better.....

I have to keep reminding myself that the show is fake, and only there to bring money. Every "situation" and conversation drives me crazy.

Saw the first show and although I like the idea the Bill guy is a bitch. I almost changed the channel when he whipped out the chopsticks from his hat. I know he is there for ratings but damn its hard to watch.

They should have had me. I'd make lots of funny jokes about bad teeth and silly accents, mock the british military, drive the rig, then air lift Carl in to fix the axle. That's American TV.

Bumpski, just stumbled across that 'afterseason' show in which they share their driving and survival techniques lol

I don't know why I didn't think to mention this before but for those of you that felt there was something major missing from OCTF, you will likely find a much better performance in the Expedition Overland webisodes: http://www.xoverland.com/videos.html

I've totally been digging them!
