This eastbound truck on Highway 59 in Hurricane Utah overcorrected and went through a cement barrier. It rolled over the culvert and ended up facing the opposite direction of travel. The truck would have fallen about 150 feet if it had gone over the cliff. Here are some pics.

From the looks of the last picture other people have gone off that cliff :ugh:

Look at the bottom of the gorge.

Scary!

My definition of luck would not involve not going through the cement barrier in the first place.

That is just crazy... I still can't see how the truck made it over the culvert.

i see what looks like a bit of trash that is mostly washout from the culvert itself.

as others have said i don't see how he made it over the culvert without going off

Looks like he slid down the rail until he caught on one of the posts and that may have fliped him down to the side. I can't believe that the guy hanging in the window can stand that close to the side of that drop off. I am guessing that someone is still in there, that's why they are working on him on that side of the truck and not just pulling it up? Looks like they put a "saftey" winch line on the truck to keep it from going off the edge while they work there too.

if you look in the third pic it looks like he hit the concrete barrier, then "rode the rail" so to speak over the culvert, then went over the rail and came to a rest somehow. Looks like the uprights for the guardrail are damaged in that fashion. Either way, send that dude to Vegas cause he's one lucky SOB!

*Edit* beat me to it Crinco!

One more thing, the pass door is tied shut too, to keep the door from swinging open and knocking that guy off the edge!

If he was a cat, I'd say he blew 8 lives right there . . . Simply amazing that he didn't go over the edge!

Unless there was an eyewitness I doubt anyone would have found him for a long time if he had gone off the cliff. If he survived the fall he probably would have died from exposure. That would have sucked.

May I ask where the pictures came from? I'd like to find out more about the story.
