So... I took my grand cherokee to Moab and decided to head up to sevenmile rim on friday.
I decided to have my girlfriend do some of the driving, she has never really spent much time driving and had been really egging me on to let her do so..
On the first road up the side of the hill it looked like there had been some kind of rockslide, few large boulders that looked like we could clear them barely with the right line.
I went ahead and let her try... well suffice it to say she went up, over and when it was time to give it a little gas she slid left onto the boulder, and we were high centered.... DOH!
So, Im outside the vehicle determining the situation while she is in the vehicle, unable to open the drivers side door as the bottom of it was pinned against the rock!
I take a step back, look at the situation and decide to stack some rocks, see if I cant get traction on one of the tires...
She FLOORS it and digs a hole with the front tire, which drops the vehicle even more so onto the rock and thus making it impossible to get the vehicle moving
I tried this and that, a jack etc....
I made a call to Matt Westrich, one of the VP's of U4WDA, and pleaded my case to him! told him the situation, and let him know I was walking the few miles out to the road and leaving the jeep.
I got 3 different phone calls from people in U4WDA that matt had called to see if they could come give me a yank out.
Within a few hours, a gentleman named Ron came out in a YJ and a cherokee, and headed up the trail with me. took about 60 seconds to hook up to the rear and yank me off the rock...
Many thanks and praise go out to the U4WDA and Matt westrich, and the gentleman who came to the rescue,
Also need to mention, Jeff made the trip out to come find me and rescue me but my signal was garbage and I did not get a chance to keep him from coming out, but good thing was it was very close to 191.
I appreciate all the help, and I think it was a good learning experience for my Girlfriend, and myself...
