I love my red top optimas. I have three of them right now.
Optimas do not like slow steady discharges till they're dead. If you discharge it in a hurry (winching or something) but then charge it back up, they go forever. I have killed several by letting them sit for a long time with a draw on them. If your gonna park your rig for a while and it has lots of electronic junk that stays on-- disconnect the battery and it will live a long happy life. Even with pitchfork holes in it.
