So I think I'm going to install some "pre-runner" type fenders. I need to paint them so I was thinking flat black along with my rockers, probably a textured paint. I was thinking of this type of paint job. I'm working on the bumper now and am planning to run some 37" tires. I would like opinions please. Do you like the the paint job? With or without the tribal stuff?

Thanks, Medsker

If you want my honest opinion, I don't like it. I like it better without the tribal though.

textured anything is hard to keep clean... i guess it depends on what your talking but i definitely thing flat back is done and over because of everyone running around with rattle can paint jobs and calling it good.... real matte finishes are hard to paint. if done right they can look cool but they are done wrong, more often, then right. definitely no tribal though...

Not often wrong. Never quite right.

I kinda like it. If you do a black swirly thing though I'd skip the pinstripe and the paint along the rocker.

I wouldn't do the bedliner or whatever though.

Thanks for the input. I didn't really think about keeping textured paint clean but it totally makes sense. My wife didn't like the "black swirly thing" either. I know the matte black thing has been overdone but I have been using it for the last 20 years and have grown accustomed to it. Maybe I could just go for painted regular black or even stock blue. I have painted real matte a few times, the biggest problem we found is you couldn't really use rubbing compound on it to get scratches out because it would just make the paint shiny again.

Keep the ideas coming, that's what I love about this forum :)
