What do you guys recommend for painting/coating skid plates. I really dont want to fork out the extra 200 bucks to have them powder coated. Obviously whatever i use needs to be tough but easy to touch up.

Self etching primer then a can of Rustoleum.

x2, that's exactly what I use. I use the self-etching primer from O'riley's. And my favorite rustoleum is the painter's touch brand. It goes on really thick, doesn't drip easily, and dries fast.

If you're patient, you can get a group of friends in on your powdercoating and save a lot of money. Usually the more stuff you can cram in the oven, the cheaper it is per part, since it's no extra work for the powdercoaters.

Awesome, thanks. I still have yet to order my skids but it will happen soon.

The extra 200 would be to have them shipped powder coated but it just doesnt seem worth it. It's already 250 for shipping so rustoleom it will be.

yikes, that's spendy. I'm sure you could get them powder-coated for $50-100 if you took it to someone local. I still paint mine though :D
