Yes, how she answered questions quickly and vaguely then went on the her rehearsed speeches about something else with very little or no relation drove me nuts.

Although, she did better than I thought she would, but I didn't have too high of expectations for her in the first place.

I would have preferred some more piss and vinegar out of both of them. That wasn't really a 'debate' as much as an interview. I didn't care so much for Palin's aw-shucks delivery, but it beat Biden's factual misrepresentations. Biden was a lot more polished, but then, he should be. He is the 35-yr veteran of a policy for change hahahahahahahahah

For a noob like Palin to stand up to a 35yr veteran of Washington speaks very poorly of that veteran.

I thought Biden did very poorly. He kept saying "now let me repeat this" and he was saying stuff that was inaccurate. I dont think it was a very good debate, but certainly showed more of the candidates in a forum that was a good test of character. Character is a main theme of this election because we have a black candidate with an ethnic name, an old guy and a woman. Americans are going to vote on feelings for the most part and the two parties have really attempted to make us feel uncomfortable by providing these candidacies for our choices.

All that being said, I like McCain and would have voted for him for president no matter what. It was risky to pick the gal, but I think the Republicans will be okay.

I agree with most of what you have said here. I'm so sick of hearing she went OT when the reality is they both did it.

She did start a little slow and looked a little out of her comfort zone, but quickly recovered and performed well.

I would only disagree that it was nice to see a civil debate for once and not resort to a cat fight with the proverbial eye gouging, hair pulling, tongue-sticking-outing, etc.

I thought the after-debate asides were more telling. Palin seemed very gracious and friendly. I don't know if you watched, but when the two VP families were standing there, Biden's family looked like they were tolerating Palin's.... might just be me though.

I don't want Obama in office...and no sane person who likes guns, motorized outdoor equipment, or keeping as much of their paycheck as possible can honestly support that douchebag either.

It is a matter of picking the lesser of two dispicable, dishonest, and money grubbing assholes.

I haven't heard either of the two say anything about taking your guns away or your 4wheeling.

But the big thing is the comment about keeping more of your paycheck with McCain in office. Good luck with that unless you make a ton of cash already.

And have you guys ever looked into getting your own insurance (not through your employer)? I have, and it is garbage coverage and costs a ton more. So you might be right, you will keep a little more from your check because there is no insurance coming out, but you will pay 3x as much for garbage private insurance.

Your not changing your mine either from what I can tell. Debate doesn't have to mean you change the other persons point of view just help them understand yours. Such as I understand some people Don't like jeeps.. I understand their aversion and they are welcome to it, but I would hope that they would try to understand my point of view on why I want something that is constantly broken
If someone asks a question doesn't mean they don't want to listen to what you have to say. It may mean that they want to hear what you say and why you discount some things that the other person thinks are vital to the issue at hand.

This thread is staying pretty friendly, but people have their viewpoints. Maybe your other fourums need to grow some balls lol. I will be stciking with my pro gun/ pro public land use ways.

Absolute BS. I was self insured for 5+ years, extremely affordable and our coverage was fine. I'm now on a program that our insurance goes to a health spending card, we basically pay all our medical bills with it, if it goes above that normal co-pay kicks in.

Well my experience was not the same. I was living off of the money I made fighting for about a year a few years ago and I was paying just under $500 a month just for me. The coverage was garbage and I was lucky that I did not get injured. This was the best out of quite a few insurance companies.

They are not trying to take away our jeeps, they are trying to take away our access to lands. Perhaps you ought to take a little closer look at the democratic environmental policy.

Like I said before, you have to look at the bigger picture. If Obama were the absolute perfect candidate (which he's far from--but an improvement over Kerry or the Goracle IMO) I still would have a hard time voting for him with the entire legislative branch already being controlled by the democrats.

Your unwillingness to engage in intelligent discourse with others, and blaming it on them is why I said you are calling people ignorant. You're implying that they are not worth your time because their opinions are different from your own. If you feel attacked or think this was a heated thread, then this is probably the first time in your life you've actually discussed politics, or any important issues, with other educated people that might have different ideas than your own. This is like a 2 on a scale of 1-50 lol.

as for the 'jeep' vs '4 wheeling' thing. Do you want to discuss and/or argue the semantics of your post or the actual issue at hand? I'm actually cool with either, it's just good to know before hand what we are talking about.

I think Obama will be anti-gun, anti-OHV, anti-middle class, etc. We were discussing that until you decided it was too much for you.

You don't have to defend yourself at all, but what kind of conviction is that? Part of the whole forum format is a back-and-forth, a disagreement some of the time. There was no malice anywhere, nothing like that. And I still don't harbor any, just disappointment that it takes so little to run you off.

I think Cody has put it very well. I can disagree with your new username if you want, too, but where I come from, we're HAVING a "normal conversation".... I don't really understand you walking away at so little.
