IMO wood is easier to work with but longevity aluminum is better (little more expensive though.
It depends on what you're looking for. Aluminum doens't have a very warm appearance to it and doesn't always look so good on that back of a house. Wood won't last as long and you'll have to paint it.

Funny thing is i called said individual.Got a quote from said company but due to you he said he would have to re-evaluate that. Thanks mark. Ill find out on monday. You have a PM....Sorry all I have is his personal cell #
I had aluminum, replaced it with wood, sheetrock, and shingles. The problem with the aluminum was that the steam off my hot tub would condense on the cold metal and turn into a rain forest. If a hot tub isn't in your future, the metal is low maintenance and a quicker install.

How about one made of both, AL and wood? You can do a structure of AL and then cover it with wood. This will give you best of both worlds; solid AL frame and a good looking wood finish.
It wouldn't do you any good. Aluminum isn't any more structurally solid than wood (in fact I would say it's probably weaker) and wood doesn't lose it's structural soundness (unless it's built wrong), it deteriorates at the exterior, checking and warping from moisture and sun.
