So as some of u know i now drive a tow truck for a living, well i cant park the truck by my house so i have to park it down the street by hwy 89. i park the truck in front of a field which is public property by the way and when i leave my jeep sits there. so i get home from a tow tonight to a note left on my Jeep.

"Can u please stop leaving your vehicles on the street? school starts monday and this can possibly pose a problem and a safty risk to the children. yada yada yada, i Appreciate your understanding. Thanks"

No name or anything. the bus stop is up the street from my truck and i y would you be allowing your kids to play on my truck:confused: its for that reason i park it down by the highway and not by the bus stop or anywhere further up which would be nicer for me.

well thats my rant for the night :D

I say screw em. People are way to anal i've noticed. ha Maybe leave a note saying that you already "think of the children!!", ha. There is a guy that lives a few houses down from me that parks his tow trucks out front and no one around (that I know of) really cares. Maybe go talk to each of your neighbors and clear it with them to park out front of your house if it really is a big deal?

On a side note; I went to a demolition derby a few weeks ago and the announcer wanted the crowd to cheer for the great job the tow truck drivers were doing and one of them was the guy down the street. I cheered!!

I don;t think its the kids playing on your truck that they are thinking about... its more the fact that kids like to walk out from behind big trucks into oncoming traffic.... as big as most of them are it becomes a problem seeing around them...

I always see it down there, and I know there are no kids that far down the street anyways. Screw them if they are going to ***** and park in front of your house. My brother and dad park their tow trucks in front of their houses, its their property.

If it's legally parked I wouldn't worry too much about it. Although before you drop that card on him/her check into your city parking ordinances.

Although the dip stick that left the message is probably just using the kids as an excuse, and just doesn't want you truck there, I agree with them.

Why is it you "can't" park it in front of your own house?

Does the rigs owner not have a place to store it? Does he know it's being stored on the street? I'd be a little worried if it were one of my $100K rigs sitting out in the open like that.

I can't tell you about Layton's laws, but nearly every other city in the state prohibits storing comercial vehicles on public streets. Here it's 3 hours max. Our drivers are allowed to take the truck home, and use them as their private vehicle if they wish, as long as they can store it in a driveway.

You can always do what I did and call the DA's office and one of the zoning lawyers can tell you exactly what rules apply to what streets all over utah...even the blurry parts. :)
