Pet friendly Moab accomodations

Hi all,

I have been lurking on your site for a year or two, and am finally coming down to Moab for the 09 Bronco Safari in early May.

I am having a problem finding pet friendly (pets allowed) accomodation, that fits a budget. The other folks in my group are staying at Canyonlands in the cabins, but when I called for a reservation and asked if it was OK to crate my well behaved 7 year old collie cross at night outside the cabins, they flat out refused me, but did say I could stay in the RV or tent sites?

I am towing my 68 Bronco down with my Grand Cherokee so no RV trailer and space is at a premium, so I'd prefer not to tent it if possible... If you locals could point me towards cabins that will allow pets outside that'd be great thanks.

Slick Rock allows pets on leash in the tent/rv area, not in the cabins. I've always had good luck there with my dog(s)

Hi Malcolm, welcome to RME!

In addition to Slick Rock that Benjy mentioned, I believe the KOA in Moab will allow pets. They have some restrictions though, I believe they don't want the pets inside the cabin. You may want to call and verify that though, since it's been awhile since I stayed there. Have fun at Bronco Safari!

We mostly stay at a motel or condo when we are there, so I know all the best pet friendly motels if you want to go that route. :)

Also, post up some pics of that 68 of yours. :D

I know Motel 6 has some pet rooms. Ive stayed there a few times with my lab. As far as cabins.....I havent found any pet friendly ones.

I have sneaked the lab into Moab Valley's cabins several times as well.

Thanks folks, I will follow up on your suggestions...

From what I see, the weathers mild enough that my dog need not be inside the cabin at all, but as I tried to explain that to the operator she didnt seem receptive at all...

Here's the 68:

Specs: Frame off restomod, no rust, tired 302 , built C4, D20, D44 Superiors, True HiNine, 35 spline Yukons, 4.56's, ARB's, full CAGE 3.5" suspension, Bilsteins, Bulletproof steering/track bar, bent my own cage, tie ins, and bumpers, M8000, hydroboost, and 35" Xterrains on Rockathons, maybe 36" Irocs by Moab...

Try Big Horn Lodge, they have pet rooms with tile floors and the rates there are good right now. I think you have to stay more than one night to get the deal though.

Thanks all, trying to get in at the Moab Rim cabins.

Brodie, the dawg, says thanks as well! He loooves 4wheeling.

Another quick question; in early May will I need my top and hard doors, or can I get by with a bikini top and no doors? I'm close to my 6500lb tow rating with the aluminum carhauler and the Bronco trail ready so shedding an extra 200lbs would be nice...

It all depends. Most likely you will be fine without the top and doors, in fact you will prolly need A/C.

I would say leave the top and hard doors. It can be cooler in early May, but it can also be nice and warm. I would rather lose the weight on the trailer and just pack a few extra pairs of blue jeans and sweatshirts. BUT, we lost our doors, top, and sides some time ago, so I'm not the most reliable source. :)
