Can remember what section of the Alcan it's on, but there's a point for a few miles that has thousands of people's names and such written on the sides of the road with rocks that have been collected to form letters. Pretty cool. Were you able to see it? Or the huge collection of lisence plates? Yeah, we're losers.
Cool photos Ollie. That's a trip you'll never regret. You'll remember it fondly one day when you find yourself in a spot where you don't have quite the same freedoms you have now.
Back in June of 1993 I rode my Yamaha FJ1200 from Los Angeles to just north of Seattle, then I put my bike on a ferry for the trip up through the inland passage. Debarked in Haines (?) and rode my bike all around Alaska. Spent the summer working in the fishing industry then in August I jumped on my bike and hightailed it back (stayed much of the summer in Valdez). 4100 miles in 7 days to get back to LA before the school semester started. Killer ride. Spent a lot of time on some of those roads in excess of 100 mph. NOBODY was out there, it was awesome!
