so I pulled the pistons out of the block I had in my garage and ordered up some new rings (3 of the pistons had broken rings)... I read somewhere that on the top of the piston if it has any markings such as 010 020 030 040 that was this marked that they are oversized pistons... Mine have 030 stamped on them all... so I wanted to make sure that this truth and not something someone wrote down somewhere...

I ordered .03 oversized rings for them... so I'm hoping I am correct....

So what say you?

this is an engine someone gave me about 3 yrs ago... I think it has been rebuild from the ground up... the main bearings still have markings on them that say 20 which I think is .02 undersized... if it wasn't for the broken rings I would have just shoved the pistons back in and closed it all up...
