Poison Spider Customs Rear Stinger Bumper

I am trying to find some reviews or opnions on the Poison Spider Customs rear stinger bumper/tire carrier. I have Poison Spider rocker knockers and crusher corners on my Jeep now. I really like PSC products so far, very well built and look great.

I am starting to build a new project Jeep (2004 Wrangler) and have been trying to think of a rear bumper to go with. I have expierence with the warn bumper/tire carrier and was pleased with it, but I think i want something different this time. The idea of the PSC bumper lowering the tire to the ground sounds like a really good idea... I also like how it is reinforced at the top of the tub under the roll bar and at the bottom behind the bumper. Just my opnion but I think it looks a lot better than most tire carriers, appears to be stout and is cheaper than a lot of bumper/tire carriers. Yet I have never seen one of these in person before. Does anyone have any expierence with these bumpers? Or know where I can read some reviews? I have been searching all morning but cant find much... Thanks for the help/opnions...

My distaste for stingers is trumped by my hatred for rear stingers. I think this bumper is mother-in-law ugly.

but different strokes. It does lower the tire down so if your wife has to change a tire you're set.

i like it also i think that it could be a little less in the stinger though. other than that i think you should try one out so i can see how it looks in person.:D

Looks wise I only like this setup on their buggies. Function wise, I guess it works. However, I would not do it on anything with less than 38" tires as I think it would look ridiculous.

I've been looking at one for the CJ but they have been pushing the release date back again.

The frame plate is butt ugly but I do like the ideal of the swing down carrier and there is no possibility of the carrier breaking off like some of the cheaper spindle mounted types.
I think the RedRox guy runs one on his TJ.

Gen right just came out with their own version for about the same $$.

just build one.

i run one and love it,
changing the tire is a breeze, ever try to dead lift a beadlocked suoer swamper?

also has saved my bacon. just last weekend i went up something steeper than i thought and thought i was going over backwards, but was saved/

love it, it is big but it looks good imho

I think they are ugly but I did see a guy get saved in a hot tub on hells revenge with the psc. He sat on the bumper for about 45 seconds while he pooped himself and finally put it in reverse. To each his own

This is funny. In Moab last month i was visiting with a guy who had made his own and he swore PSC stole his idea from him.

In any case, it bolts to the body tub, which is reinforced with plate around the tub for strength. this part of it i don't like. I plan to build my own and attach it to my bumper and cage.

I do like the look and functionality of it overall but the PSC one looks kind of silly in how tall it is. And i don't see how it hurts departure angle any worse than any tire hanging off the back of a jeep. Most of the time i don't wheel with a spare unless i'm far from town. beadlocks, an air source, and a tire repair kit are a good argument for leaving the 250 lb? spare at home.

Well I have been looking a lot of other bumpers and comparing it to this. Im supprised that so many people on here think its ugly...I think it looks better than any other bumper/tire carrier I have seen. Too each their own I guess. I also dont see how it would hurt the departure angle...if anything it looks like it would make the departure angle better. It looks like it lifts the tire up higher off the back and the stinger seems to be sucked up to it pretty well..even if it does rub, looks to be easy to take off and patch it up. Well I have decided to go ahead and get this stinger...for those interested I will write up a review with some pics on the install..it will be a couple weeks though, next weekend is axle swap and re-gearing...thanks for the input everyone.

How many have they sold? If you find out, you'll also know the exact number of people on the planet that don't think this is the ugliest thing in the world ;)
