This may be a bit off-topic for the Trip Reports forum but it all ties in. :D

We took the Cherokee out to Moab to test out the new suspension today. We ran the Poison Spider Mesa trail. I wanted to take my new Suzuki DRZ400 out as well, so I lead the way on the bike while Catherine followed in the Jeep. We also had the 1:6 scale Nylint Rockcrawler in the back of the Jeep. So far all the action it's seen has been in the house, I wanted to see how it did on the slickrock!

Here's some pics from today-

Yeah she's growing like a weed! One day she's a lap dog, then next day she's suffocating you!

This is the first time I've had a motorcycle in Moab and I was always kind of concerned how it would be to ride on slickrock, ascend & decend the ledges, etc. It was awesome!! It was like mtn biking, except less work, more suspension & more ground can be covered! If you're on the rock you can just blip the throttle for instant wheelies! I had a great time and can't wait to get out there again on the DRZ.

Ramtoy & I used to takes our dirtbikes to Moab quite a bit, and too be honest I liked it more than taking my Cruiser at the time. I was riding a CR250, and Jeff had a 125 he would take, we had a hell of a time down there. We could cover SOOOO much terrain in a day. PSM, Moab Rim, all awesome rides. There is an old moto-cross track at the south end of town we used to ride, nothing to technical but a great way to warm up in the morning. I love dirt-biking in Moab, up & down dump bump, hot tubs, you name it :D

Great pics, making me wish I still had a bike :(

Some of the most fun I've had in Moab was riding an old Honda TL 125. (trials bike)

It still seems strange to me that the mountain bikers seem to get mad at motorcycles, especially on the Slickrock Trail. (which, as I'm sure you all know, was initially made by the Moab Motorcycle Club...) Maybe they're all just jealous?

Riding a 2 stroke down there could get intresting! I loved it, there were a few times when I didn't think the tires would stick, but I'd try it and blast right up! It surprised the hell out of me! I haven't tried anything too steep, no dump bump yet.

A trials bike would be a hoot! I want to ride Slickrock but didn't have the chance yesterday. We saw a few mtn bikers and I was thinking how great I had it, being able to twist the throttle and ride right up the hills that they were walking!

I did learn that there's some singletrack motorcycle trails in the La Sals, I can't wait to ride them! There's nothing better than a 10" wide track in the mountains that weaves thru the trees, over hills and rivers, etc. I dig that stuff.

Dam good looking dog. Those are some nice pics, what kind of camera?

Thanks, she's a real handful!

Pics are from a Kodak Z740, which Catherine got for her B-Day last week. Specs are 5 MP, 10x zoom and it takes video. It's a nice point & shoot digi cam. I think the best feature is the 5 picture sequence. It takes 5 shots, one every 2 secs. As you can see, there are a handful of sequential photos. I love the idea of being able to shoot a sequence!

The Slickrock trail is amazing on a motor-bike... I had done it a couple times on Mtn. Bikes, but nothing compared to the fun on a 2 stroke hauling up and down everything.
