Poly bushings

Im in need of some leaf bushing but i have read mixed reviews on using poly bushings. Same reviews say NO do not use them they are noisy and do not flex well and cause a harsh ride and they will either rip or wallow out after a lot of offroad use. And others say they use them and like them. Would i be best to stick with just OE bushings or will poly be fine? My XJ will see a mix of 50/50 on and offroad. I dont do hardcore stuff just a lot of trail riding maybe something like rattle snake or forest lake would be the roughest trails we would be doing. I just have never had any experience in running poly bushings so i hate to run them if they are junk!

FWIW, I tried poly motor mounts on one of my other cars and that lasted all of 3 days, swapped them out and enjoyed driving again. Come to think of it, I ran a set of control arms about 8 years back that used poly bushings and were stiff and didn't flex at all. I would stick with OE bushings.

When my Ford had the 4" tuff country lift kit it had poly bushings and I hated them and they cracked. I was a lot happier with the rubber bushings I got when I upgraded to the rough country 8" kit. Call up best deal spring in Payson (801)465-4873. They will hook you up well with rubber (or if you decide poly) bushings.

I have decided after a ton of reading that im sticking with rubber bushings. I called best deal they have them in but its going to run about 90 bucks to replace 4 bushings:eek2: Plus im having a hard time knowing if stock bushings will work? My rig currently has the rusty's 4.5" lift on it and on their site it sates they use special bushings and OEM bushings will not work in their lift springs? I have to do some measuring to see, im thinking they are just saying that to get you to buy their bushing kit? I could be wrong?
