My son has a 1980 Scout II that would not pass smog in Cal. so he parked it after rebuilding the engine and doing a few things to it. It was parked about 1999 in his side yard. I have requested inside and outside views and all the stuff he had done to it before making a decision to take it off his hands and get it going again. Not sure I will be up to it but wanted to get some views from some of the Scout people out there. Is it worth doing???

Jack - you know the answer already when you ask the IHC crowd (grin). Will it pas emissions in Utah though? Good thing that Wyoming doesn't require emissions for now. It does sound like a nice project, so go for it.

I knew what you would say but I want to find some critics. I should probably wait for the pictures and specs.

I looked and it is worth doing. I screwed up the pics from my Ipod so will request more.
My son will take it to his other house in Hesperia and I will pick it up from there with better weather probably April or May. If I change my mind #1 Chestonscout #2 Scoutabout. This could be a long drawn out post

ChestonScout and scoutabout, with all the junk I have been getting it looks like I will not be doing this rebuild. My son says it is up to me to decide so here goes. I think it is worth $2k but will take $1500 if you pick it up in Buena Park, CA. Let me know.
