Get guys. Finally have a steering problem that ISN'T death wobble. So I was about to change the return line or low pressure line on my jeep and the Dang fastener started cross threading. I immediately backed it off but the damage was already there. I tried again even slower with no luck. So I decided I'd just cut a inch of hose off the old line and reinstall that one. The original one started getting cross threaded as well so naturally I stopped. Threw a couple tools around to get out my frustrations and now wondering if you guys have any tricks. All this just because a leaky line.

its cross threading at the pump or the steering box? You should be able to pull the actual fitting out of each end annd get it out where you can see it. then either clean up the threads or buy a new one.

The line should actually thread into another fitting. Pull that fitting out so you can get a better look at the damage.
