I know it pissed me off when they first brought it to the state. Wasn't a matter of laziness, it was a matter of running my card at the pump, then having to run it again for $1 if I wanted to grab a BigGulp while I was there. I think the "convenience" part of the convenience store must have taken a hit to their profits, because a lot of times I just gas up and go, whereas before, I would almost always purchase something to eat/drink while I was in the store. I'm sure it was a necessity to go to prepay, I just think it sucks.

It really sucks if you want to pay cash for gas, when you don't know how much it will take to fill your tank.

X2 Then they will hold onto your CC if you want to fill your tank, so you may as well just use it anyway.

I just had my debit card hacked and they stole a bunch of money from my account. One of the things that they asked when they did the investigation is if I ever gave my card through the drive through or left it at a station and went to pump my gas. We used to always do that so we could get our munchies.

Needless to say, I don't ever do it anymore. They don't know for sure who actually did it, but it got me thinking.

Can't remember who was telling me, but someone recently was telling me that they caught the teenager working at the fast food counter taking a picture of their credit card with his cell phone camera. He caught the kid and busted him, but it makes you wonder how often this goes unseen.

I hate it... when I'm on work runs, I use company checks to purchase gas... I know which gas stations are good about checks, but then you have to walk in, leave them a check and then fill up.

Lately I have been going to the same Cheveron in Draper... I've literally been gassing up there for 10 years now :D There gas is a bit pricier than down the road, but they look out the window and OK my pump usually... worth the extra $$$ to me...

Oh ya Chad? Try going to the station needing gas and diesel and having no idea how much of either you need.

The other killer is-with the prices of gas lately, most pay-at-the-pump places have a $50 limit on credit card purchases. I have to pump to the $50, the pump shuts off automatically, then rerun the card to finish buying my 23 gallons of gas needed to fill my tank:rolleyes:

Ya, sux pretty bad.

I know what you're saying though. People should know that pay before you pump is the norm, yet they expect that if they sit at the pump, eventually the clerk will reset the pump. When that doesn't happen, they get all bent out of shape. I laugh at the idiots regularly.

It's just a sad sign of the times that we must all be inconvenienced because there are so many dishonest people in the world. Oh well.

I was told that was a limit placed on your card by the credit card company and you can have it removed from your card if you call them up...not sure though.

I have only hit a 50 buck limit at one station most are 75 to 100 where I go. Nothing is worse then being a couple galons away from full and having it stop:mad:

Truck stops will go higher than 50 before they stop--big truck stops will run till it's full. I used to hate filling up the dodge in the city because I would have to swipe my card twice at the pump.

Personally, I'd rather swipe my card at the pump, then go inside and swipe it again to buy a drink. I see the other side of the coin though.
