UTAH - BLM - Price FO Announces March Recreation Planning Meeting

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Price Field Office has announced that there will be a recreation planning meeting held at the BLM Price Field Office (125 S 600 W, Price, UT) on March 13, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. The agenda for the meeting includes the discussion of recreation projects and travel management, including the San Rafael Dessert Route Inventory. Also there will be a discussion on other future recreation projects. Anyone interested in outdoor recreation on BLM managed lands in Carbon and Emery Counties is welcome to come.

Agreed. Given this area has already been inventoried and RMP's are in place or at least in the works I would be suspect that it is a motorized route inventory but curious to know.

Any updates as to how the meeting went?

Meeting went well. We talked about current and up coming work projects and what help they need with them. One of the problems with the past staff at this field office was their lack of desire to get anything done, including the implementation of the RMP and the inventory of routes East of Hwy 24. The route inventory is going on right now and should be completed pretty soon. We digressed into a discussion of the history of the RMP and problems with "lost & missing" data. During this conversation, I used the word corruption and a retired employee of that office who was at the meeting took offense and we had a very lively discussion in the parking lot after the meeting.
