What are the best spots?
something with trees would be nice. Needs to be large enough for three or four camp trailers and jeeps/ trucks.

Not to many campsites as at night some people like to drink a little and get loud. (music)

Planning for 06-11 to 06-15

Maybe something in the LaSals?

Suggestions please.

Thanks.

You can try the campground at the end of Flat Iron Mesa. As for finding a place in Moab without anyone else, good luck! I the Summer, I usually try to stay as high as I can just because I can't sleep in 90 degree temps.

I know that there is camping with trees along the river driving up to prichett canyon. I dont know the name of the road but along the river there are tons of trees and several places to fit trucks and trailers and campers. I think the only thing they have there is restrooms . The only problem is that there might be more misquitos and bugs around there since its next to the river! Its a pretty cool area though if that is somthing that you might want to do.

Has any one camped at Kens lake?
I Google Earthed it and does'nt look like to many trees around.

How about that spot where all the greenies are always at, on the north side of 313 right after the turn off of 191 (6) ?

We actually did that about six years ago, and it was cool. But i have a 1 and 1/2 year old and it drives daddy completly insane when i see bugs bitting her.
Hopefully i'll get over that soon. You know, inevitable facts of life. -_-

But please keep the ideas coming.
Thanks.

I've checked out Kens Lake, it's an alright area. There's lots of exposure as you said, no trees other than some scrub oak. There's a small stream that feeds the man-made lake which is pretty cool.

There's some amazing camping areas under the La Sals, the drive takes a little while but it's an incredible area. It's kind of a neat feeling to be camping in pine trees & aspens, while looking down on Moab & Canyonlands. I bet it would be nice & cool in the evenings & have few people up there. Humm.... you have me thinking. Next time I go to Moab, I think I may have to stay up there. The longer drive would be well worth the benefits of being up there.

I'll be pulling a 5th wheel and my bro and my buddy will be in Class c motor homes. when you're up there memorial day, could you check that out?
Don't go out of your way or anything, but any info would be awesome.
The whole trip will be about wheelin so we would like to be as close to town as possible but ten or so miles more is no big woop.

Check out Kens Lake or the La Sals? I don't know that I'll have any time over Memorial Day, we're making the trip to Moab a one-day'er. If you're talking the La Sals, I don't know that I'd take motorhomes up there... a trailer is one thing, motorhome is another.

I was just down in Moab and we ran a bunch of trails north of 313 heading to Canyonlands NP. I was surprised how many people were camped off of the main road There is a cool bluff just across from the third view area heading in. Also there were some people camped in the tree off the Dubinky Well road and the road to Spring Bottom road trail/same trail as Hey Joe Canyon.
