Looks sweet man. Want some first time buggy builder advise? Too bad, you get it any way.

Well..... You asked for it. The only major change I would make on mine, would be to have the drivetrain finalized before I finished the chassis. I never thought to measure the vertical distance from the motor mounts to the botom of the t case. I could have gained about 2-3" of belly clearence. First time builder mistake I guess. I have LOVED my atlas. I was originally (SP) going with the doubler as well, but after finding the right 203, and the right 205, changing the outputs, adapter, front dig shift rail mods, I decided that the atlas was the way to go. For only a few dollars more. Staks also look way cool and their 2 speed is or was a few hundred less than an atlas.

ok so I started a thread about hoods and grills a while back. I called tanner 4x4 and found a hood that would work with the demensions of my buggy. they told me it was 54" wide at the rear of the hood. so that should have given me a 1/2" to 3/4" of give. well the ups man dropped it off today and its 53" wide at the rear. My question is what should I do to make it fit.

#1 cut the hood to clear the tube?
#2 push the hood forward about 6" and have someone make me a cal?
#3 cut the tube and cap it and push the tube over a bit to clear the hood?

the hood needs to go down about 3-4" so what do you guys think???

I just cut down a cj hood from the junkyard. I would probabaly just trim it. Or start your buggy over maybe;)

chad your crazy dont start over get creative and make it. work it would look good to cut the side of the hood to make sit flat on the tube and what are you going to do as far as hinges or pined? and are you going to have a front fender look at all ? i would be down to come and ick some ideas around with you and see what we could come up with !

the hood has kind of a flat fender look to it do I was just going to tube under that. If you want to head down that would be awsome tc.
