After 15 months in the shop, this is the first test drive of my totally rebuilt CJ-7 (I now affectionately call her, CJ-7.5, as she's so new and improved!).
Here's a partial list of this rebuild's work:
- 16" frame and body stretch
- new tub
- stretched roll cage and rear control arms
- new hood
- 14" travel, 2.5" Fox airshocks
- duel diaphragm brake booster and master cylinder
- disc brake conversion to rear 14 bolt axle
- full set of Autometer gauges
- cable shifters for Dana 300 transfer-case
- new Borgsen steering shaft
- Tom Woods rear driveshaft
- 2 point racing seatbelts
- new duel exhaust
- M.O.R.E. Bomb Proof motor mounts
- rollcage tied into frame
- new power steering pump
- new fuel injectors w/fuel pressure regulator
- TONS of little things
To be done in the next couple weeks before she comes home:
- suck winches front and rear
- full manual, reverse valve body in the TH-400
- Art Carr gated transmission shifter, reverse pattern
- duel Optima Red and Yellow tops
- trans temp gauge
- brake line lock
It still needs some cosmetic work (including green paint of course!), but she's totally trail worthy now. She'll be back in Moab early August as soon as we return from back East.
Here's some photos from our test drive at Little Moab.
HERE's all the pictures from the day if your interested.
