Project for the wife maybe

So I might be backing out of my J4000 project. I still have the Wrangler which I'm more than happy with on 33's. I just came the realization earlier that there is no way in hell I can afford to build the J4000 and still put what I need to into the TJ. For the cost of the axles alone for the truck I can pretty much build the TJ the way I want to.

So on the point of this thread. If I do decide to part with the J4000 I will be on the search for a second gen Firebird to restore. My wife has always loved second gen's with T-tops. The only concern I'm going to have when searching is the condition of the body. I know it's going to take a long time to get it where I want it and I'm perfectly ok with that so the engine and all that doesn't concern me yet.

The Firebird is by no means my dream restoration car but if I ever have plans of doing a '68 Mustang I need to do this first. Since I do have MY Jeep and I'm getting MY four wheelers and I have MY motorcycle...it's time to do this for the wife before my next big project.

No pics yet since I just talked to the wife and she said "sounds like a great idea" I thought she was gonna think I was crazy for changing my mind on this one after all the time I spent on the J4000. Luckily I'm only into the truck for about $700 and lots of time but other than that I can't really take too much of a hit on it.

I'll be searching for the next few months and if I find something I can't pass on maybe I'll just have the wife pick it up and bring it to the house.

I've got a handful of parts in great condition from my 79 trans am if you are interested... door glass, both tops, front bumper, hood hinges, etc... if you get a 79-81 and you need some parts, let me know... I've kind of given up that I'll ever get another one.

I'll keep it in mind, I appreciate it. I think I'm still a couple months from really getting serious about it but I did find an awesome deal on a straight '72 on KSL if I could talk the wife into paying for it and a friend to check it out to really make sure the body is straight it just might be the ticket.
