Project LOW and SLOW

Project Low and Slow has finally made it out of the Ghetto Fab Garage!! So I've been working on this truck for about a year and a half. I started out with just a cab and front clip and frame. I cut off the frame in front of the cab and right behind the cab. I built a new frame for the rest so I could get it as far up into the body as possible. I put a 60 out of a dodge in front three linked with a panhard. Put together a full hydraulic steering system out of different pieces I put gathered up. It has a 22RE that I stuffed as high up in the bay as I could get it. I raised the position of the trans and tcase as far as possible allowing for a flat belly. The rear is a shaved 14 bolt, 4 linked. I built a internal cage. (cut off the roof, then welded it back on) The bed in a first gen I picked up that wasn't too rusty. I bobbed it and dove tailed it. I shortened the tail gate by cutting it on each side so the toyota lettering would be centered and the gate would be functional. I gave it a nasty white paint job.(never painted anything in my life and it shows!) I built this for my son so we can hopefully wheel together without me having to constantly wrench on his truck on the trail.:D Hope you like it!

Is this to replace the blue truck? Looks sweet!

No, the blue truck is mine. It has a 5.0 out of a mustang in it. I learned a lot building the blue truck. He is benefiting from the mistakes I made on it.

There is about 4 inches of up travel. We raised the front a little after the shots on the driveway. My goal was as low as possible, so things are a snug fit. :)
Greg, sorry not taking applications at this time. :) Check back later to see if I've disowned one of em!

That turned out GREAT. Really like the lack of Toyota content in it. :p

You didn't mention, and I can't tell from pictures...what is holding it up? Coil springs, or coilover shocks, or airbags.....?

Carl, sorry I don't do build threads well. :) It has 2" air shocks on it. 14" in front 16" in the rear. Coco, thanks, it really did turn out pretty good. After hundreds of hours of work, I can say I'm pretty glad to be almost through with it
