This is one bitchin' Sami:)

I really like the look of your front tube-work. What are you thinkin' finished weight will be?

Thanks, I'm shooting for ~ 3k pounds, I figure it weighed ~1950#s before the second build and I subtracted the motor, trans, t-case, front/rear suspension and axles, the front clip and inner fenders and grill, the doors with glass, the rear tub and inner fenders, front frame and old bumper, and the rear frame.

So that puts me down to about 1150 so I've got 1850#s of room to replace all that stuff and still be around 3k. I guess

I'm thinking something like this for the fender bar, roof spreaders, and gussets.

Hey Bryson, you actually cut the tube for the old roll cage on that. I think you might have even bent it too. That was when you had your sami back then and you were over a rocklogic.

this is just an awesome buggy all around! I think the ideas you have for the final tube work look awesome! Keep it up, and I hope to see in Moab this year!

I may have to vote for no rear fender bars. I think it's gonna look too busy back there if you do. The rest looks way cool.

Thanks for all the feedback guys I'm working on this alone so there's no one around to say hey that looks like crap or whatever so I'm relying on you all to keep me from going over the top or whatever.

I had looked at doing that but with the interior one there all ready I couldn't see a way to do it and make it look right. I have another cowl from a soft top with a fold down windshield when the current frame gets smashed I'll swap it out for the fold down one.

I vote no fender bars

hmmmmmmm......... I guess I don't really need the protection that bar would offer, eccept near the front of the rear fender.........

Maybe a second upright in front of the fender, That may actually work out better as I think I still need to cut the fenders a little higher.

hmm... Thanks guys I'll take a look at it.

You may remember the guy (me) that came in with the electrical-conduit templates all bent up and bogger welded together about 3 years ago at the old shop when you had that 1-link rear sami.

I like the look of the rear fender bar... It would be Bit#@in if you had the tube rolled to follow.!!

The tube work will be Rust-o-leam Hammered black. Which is the color of the old tube work and boat sides.
I have gone back and forth on the fender bar cause the bends it would take to be tight to the body would look really cool but ultimatly I don't think I'll have the room for it. I've looked at it and I think I'll add a second angled upright from the rockslide to the mid bar I think this will give more balance with the look of the front fenders.
