Yea tounge weight. But I guess that it would be true apon how you load the trailer,...an axle in the back of it it would want to "walk off" your hitch.....
cruiseroutfit said:Anyone have a good idea for a trailer jack?
I don't need one that will raise/lower the trailer (as one guy can easily do that)... just something that will keep the front end up while unhooked from the Cruiser...
I don't want it mounted on the bottom (get riped off on rocks)...
I don't want it attatched to the side (can't jack-knife the trailer, it would hit my Cruiser)...
So I am thinking of something that attatches to the bottom (mabey inserts into a sleeve) but then stores on the top of the tonque, out of harms way...
Any good ideas?

I Lean said:Put a short section of receiver tube in the tongue, and make a lightweight foot for it using 2x2 for the "leg". Drill one hole in it, or more for adjustable height if you want to.
When you're on the trail, take it out and reinsert it upside down in the same receiver tube, so it sticks up instead of down. Make sense?
cruiseroutfit said:What would a 2' length of 1.5" DOM cost? Do you have a size that it will slide into? 1.75" w/.125" wall?
Thanks!
I Lean said:Yup, I've got 'em both. You're looking at probably $5 worth of materials though....can ya handle that?
(also, it's 1.75" .120 wall---gives you 10 thousandths of room, so you can actually get the tube in there. .125 wall would make it an interference fit....)

cruiseroutfit said:Got the paint ordered (pick it up tomorrow)
Got the jack material (thanks Carl/Rocklogic4x4)
Got the air tank (thanks Bryson T)
Got the Cruiser tailights today (Thanks a million Clay!)
Got the water tank today (Thanks again Clay!)
Got the propane holder cut today (metal ring)
So this weekend should see some major improvments...
Pics to come...

I didn't see an answer on what type of hitch you used. What type works best for all the twisting it's going to do? Also, what is that you used for the top? Looks like fiberglass???
