I didn't know I was supposed to lube my trailer wiring connectors with dielectric grease. See, I did learn something!

Here's a bit of info that is not listed in that "Safety Manual"..... The Emergency Brake-away cable that will activate the trailer's brakes in the event that it becomes separated from from the tow vehicle is required to be attached to a separate point of the tow vehicle. So using the example of a Gooseneck trailer... technically you are supposed to make an extra mounting point besides the chain attachment points to be fully in compliance.

Did you know that? It is something I learned while doing DOT inspections here in Colorado and then also while driving as a DOT compliant driver for a HotShot company last year. Sure.... the average joe that is towing doesn't need too make this modification, but if you are a company that has the possibility of being DOT inspected, now you know!!!
