I've been told that if one were to read what I believe is a fictional story by that Abbey guy about some monkey wrench group that one might gain some insight into gang green's specific interests in this Muddy Creek area. When asked about it at Moab's info center recently the lady at the desk kind of
shook her head and said no no they won't let us sell that here. Hummmmm
I'm for better knowing one's adversary in order to better counter thier moves.
I just had the chance to breifly visit the area at the start of this years loose screws tour. Nice country to drive through and would love to return and explore. But a freshly graded smooth dirt road all the way wasn't much more fun than a drive up big cottenwood canyon in a passenger car, Any old mining or access road in the area that are closed is a shame. If resource damage happens they just close everything? that is unacceptable! Kudos to the protestors.
Oh yeah and tamerisk is a vile weed.
