I'd like to do a snow run up Providence Cyn in next couple of weeks, before the snow piles up too deep. (assuming it's not already)

Anyone local that can provide a semi-accurate snowdepth/trail status?
TIA

I'd be willing to be your not going to get close to running the trail already? We were up in the mountains ~7000' last night and it was nearly 1' deep. Prov is ~9600 feet.

I will be headed up there this week some time in the buggy. Not much new snow has fallen here, so I am thinking that it is still possibe to make it up to the flats.

That's what I was thinking, last run I made up there in the winter it was in Dec 06 and we were breaking trail in about 18"-24" from the warming hut on up......got over into the "rodeo grounds" bowl and the snow was drifted bumper deep in spots, so we did a 180 back to the warming hut and then out the Logan Canyon route. Pretty fun day.......

Should be an interesting run if you head up this weekend, just watched the weather and it looks like Friday/Sat is going to be a doozie........

thanks for the feedback, let me know if you make it out this weekend.

I was just up there last night and my front locker is acting up on my Lexus so I decided to turn around. I think I need to pull it and give it a good lube.

It's stil totally doable. We have a lot less snow than most places in northern Utah. Like today, Utah and Salt lake counties got hammered, all we got were blue skies.:greg:

No kidding. I was in the west desert the other night and mtns over 7000 out there had a foot of fresh powder, I figured Prov would have a couple of feet or more up on the flat and the peak would be sled territory only. A funky winter I guess? You wouldn't have a chance of getting into Mineral Basin right now, and its at nearly the same elevation. I'm sick of shoveling, you can have the snow up there!

Well, we got nailed today. I spent 6 hours snowblowing today. Channel 5 news listed Providence as the heaviest hit today at 11" of the white stuff.

So, that's 1 for not much snow and 1 for a butt-load of snow (they say butt-load up there.....adopted Preston lingo, I hear)

Notajeep....what's your vote?

I've got a decent amount here :D

I'll bet getting to the quarry isn't too tough, but anything past that would be really iffy... Having not been up there in awile this is all just a guess :p
