Thanks guys, two things I have noticed about this thread:

1) You guys know way to much about teh interwebz and connecting to it.

2) Most of you can not correctly spell the word "Lose".

"Lose" describes a loss of some sort. "Loose" describes my 52" waist pants after "losing" 130 pounds.

So Lose, Loser, Losing, Lost all have one "O", not two.

Loose, Loosely, Loosest, all have two.

This has been a public service announcement by yours truly, the acquisitioner of your tasty hops.:greg:

Nah, I spelled it right.... as in "you loosed some speed" I always put the extra o in and sometimes I feel like backspacing to get rid of it.

So, since I got fed up with how slow Qwests website was......does it actually say FIOS on the options that are available in each area? The available services in my area went from 1.5 MB to 20 MB down, but didn't really say anything about fibre. Just said I would need a home phone line......

The 12 and the 20 are fiber, if the web site says you can't get something you should call them. I check the web site from time to time to see if I can get more speed and it always tells me that I can only get dial up.... I check it on my 1.5Mb DSL line.

Qwest sucks anyway...

According to Qwest I can't get DSL here at the house. Funny thing is neighbors have it... I gave 'em the pirate salute and went with Comcast - IMO the better of the two evils - and I *DISPISE* Comcast. I swore 13? years ago I would never be a Comcast customer again. Even when they bought out AT&T, I dumped AT&T and went to SBC DSL. Well, now I have their cable internet because I'm not going to beg or argue with the dipsticks at Qwest just to send them $'s.

Actually, now that I think about it, the local Qwest idiot came to my door pedling DSL. I explained I couldn't have it, he assured me I could, so they installed it for a 30 day trial. After about 4? days I canceled and I was charged all kinds of BS (totaled like $13 or something), including service - and I even used my own modem, which they said would not work

Kinda like when I had to argue with Comcast for 3 days to get cable. Finally I told them the node number and my pole number (whatever they called it) and the lineman's name that told me I could have it and they relented. Then 2 months later they banned me for using more than unlimited internet. Granted I had to go through a lot with qwest to get DSL but technically at that time I should not have been able to get DSL (way too many feet of copper), since that time I've used the piss out of it (way more than I ever did the Comcast which also cost a lot more) and have never heard word one about my useage from qwest.
