Hey guys,
considering the ram assist that is on special.

I have some questions pertaining to this type of set up.

What kind of maintanence needs to be done on these?
Is there a life on the rams?
do these come with a rebuild kits?
Do the seals break or crack?

My steering is way sloppy and very weak. Thinking this would be a great upgrade. I read the post about all the people happy with theirs but wanting to know of some problems to be on the look out.

so.. if i am reading correct. the 1.5 diameter is the best overall for the push and pull equality with stock steering pumps is that right?

Did anyone install a reservoir on theirs?

how does one determine if they need a 6 or an 8 stroke.

im still searching for answers but have found some great links,

I would like to hear about personal experiences per this subject.

both pros and deffinatly cons.

I LOVE my H/A. I have had it on for about 6 Months. It has been the single best upgrade I've done. I have an 85 Tiy truck with Cross over streering. (Low steer)

Carl at R/L helped me install it. My truck is not a DD, so not sure on the life span, but I have had no problems. I even like driving the truck on the road with it. The steering is light and easy to turn.

No extra reserve is needed.

I would talk to Carl or Von at R/L as far as what is needed for your application.

There really isn't any maintenance to do. The seals eventually would wear out, but I'll bet it would take many years to happen. For the stroke, you'd need to measure. I know Toyotas use 6" if you have hi-steer (arms are shorter than stock), or 8" if you're using the stock arms. You don't need a bigger reservoir, but some people like them for the increased cooling. :)
