Stick with me for a moment. I am not trying being self righteous, or trying to be arrogant. I cut my teeth on the rubicon. There is a rock, that is technically in the 20 foot swath of what is considered the trail.
A few years ago, some body parked on said rock. Now the rock, the area, and far past the 20 foot buffer all look like they have been driven on for 20 years.
This process started as a poser pic. Please Please please do not take this as an admonishment, or as a finger pointing.
When I ran the trail in april, right after I moved here. I remember how the trail looked and have pictures. I know the trail has to change with use, but it is starting to look like a free for all.
Running it in November, it didn't even look like the same trail. Everything was wider, the tire tracks went just a little further into the buffer. Etc etc
I am not going to tell you what to do or not do. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. You can get out of this what you want or don't.
I also don't want you to feel like I am trying to call you out, in any way. I actually look forward to meeting and wheeling with every member of this board someday.
Please, if I sound like I am trying to police your actions. Let me know, that is the last thing I am trying to do. What I am trying to do is take a part in protecting a challenging trail that I did not have to drive 4 hours to get to.
