Looking to re-work my rear bumper. This is what it looks like now, for the most part:

I am looking to do something like this: (minus the hope. Use square tube and cut the quarter panel and run it under.)

1)

Or like this: Just wrap some round tube around

2)

I don't know if you want any other ideas but here is a pic of what I had on mine. Kinda like the first one. Sorry I can't find a closer pic.

I like the box tube around the sides, although you'll have to trim the bottom of your bed for that bumper. Trail-gear also has a beefy bumper for cheap. If you don't want to build it yourself, that might be a good route.

yeah, they're definitely ugly. Good for you for wanting to build your own. That way it'll be just the way you want it.

Indeed. The only think I will not be able to do is add a receiver tube so I can add a recovery point (either that or add some weld-thru clevis mounts for some d-rings. They would be to think to weld so I will have to find someone with a bigger machine)

I vote #2.

I have no love for Trail-gears bumpers and sliders unless they have changed their materials choice in the last two years.

Here's a set of Yota-sliders I modded for a Cherokee. (He got them for just a few bucks). I measured them less than 0.10 wall.
