ive got a cj7 spring over with a more off road traction bar 35 mtr tires run tham at 12psi in moab when climbing steep slickrock the rear end wanys to start hopping anybody have any suggestions how to solve this without going to 4 link thanks
If you can, post a picture of your traction bar. Preferably a shot taken from the side. It could be you traction bar is not well designed, it also could be at least partly due to your MTRs.

They're grippy, but no more than a BFG/Maxxis/SX/whatever. I believe the hop is induced by the relatively thin and flexible sidewall, not the grippiness. I guarantee that the set of Maxxis Creepy Crawlers I have (had ) on my rig are grippier (sticky compound) than an MTR, but because of the stiff bias-ply sidewall, they do not induce hop.
MTRs......Wheel Hop?....this has never been an issue with me. I have 3 leaf pack chevy springs in my runner, no trac bar and I don't hop! I just start to spin sometimes. But I ran them at 8 last time in moab!
My observations have led me to believe that the same rig will hop more with MTRs than with many other tires. I'd still like to see that side-pic of his traction bar, though.
if you go to mountainoffroad.com and click on products there is a picture
and ill try to take a picture and get it on here also
do you guys think my shocks could be to soft
thanks
there are 3 different set-ups listed on that page. which do you have, and i'd still like to see a pic. your track bar is in the rear not front, right??? both???Does it use a shackle???
I had hop with 35 mtr's, but the 33's were fine. It is a ide wall issue....
I sliced 3 mtr side walls in a a month, 2 in a day....
38 SX's have been one for 3+ years, no problems, no hop with my old leaf suspension or the link set up now.
