Rear end question now??

OK I have my Chev 350 and my 700R4 tranny I making my mind up either go with the summit PRF-60109 or the B&M 130-70244 converter lock up system but my question is I have the smaller Dana 44 that has been shortened but not enough to get a true track on the wheels and it has the wrong bolt pattern on the axles SO I want to shorten it to the correct length and put the mounts for the backing plates that are on the jeep now and have the axles splined for the correct bolt pattern. Who does a good job at rear ends. P.S. also if some one has a good transfer case asm that comes out on the driver side that would bolt up to the 700r4 let me know junk yard wants 175.00 plus core I was going to give them my old one. thanks

I am not sure what you are asking. For that matter I'm not sure what you have posted.

Please clarify and maybe try a couple of spaces and a little punctuation.

I am not trying to be mean but there are a LOT of things that are unclear.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one trying to understand that one?

$175 for a T case is not bad at all, depending on which one it is BTW.

So, what it is exactly your looking for?

SORRY I thought it was clear. The topic was about a rear end question. Who does a good job at shorting the rear ends in the area. As per in my post: Who does a good job at rear ends. Pretty simple question. Who?????

So your question is?

Who in the area would you recommend to shorten a rear axle housing?

I guess everything else in the post is what was confusing.

What I would like to do is my backing plates that bolt onto the axle housing (that has been shortened) is to remove them from my 87 wrangler and have the backing plate mounting bolt holes line up. Just for parts ease. You go to the parts counter a cute little lady is helping you and it is her 4th day at ther new job you don't want to blind side her. OK NO BITCHING YES THERE ARE ALOT OF LADIES THAT COULD BLOW ME OUT OF THE LAKE ITS JUST A FIGURE OF SPEECH. Its so much easyier to say I have a 87 jeep wrangler and I need a brake wheel cly or brakes. Just trying to make it easy on my self.

You basically want to use your jeep backing plates, brakes, drums?
Respline your axles to fit the 44?
Or redrill dana 44 shafts to fit your bolt pattern?

I know what you mean about parts, my toyota drivetrain is 93 chevy, axles are 78 ford with 85 chevy brakes, and body is 85 runner. It gets confusing. You just need to be able to tell them the year, make, and model of the part you are after.

Or, look it up online, then walk in and ask for part# xxxx
