General Tech Rear Window Defroster Fix

Years ago (like 10) the wired connection to my rear defroster broke off. You know, the cable that physically connects to the defroster grid. There is now no way to connect to the grid and I have no idea how to repair that. Thoughts?

Is there a wire left in the car that you can see? Can you solder a little pig tail with a connector and extend it again?

I have resoldered a couple in the past that are still going strong. Mine were the type that a prong with connecter was sodlered to a special plate in the glass. The prong busted off.

So what you guys are saying is that all I need to do is solder it? Is it really that simple?
