well i think its time for a new/rebuild project.
A little background on my buggy. I built this rig about 3 years ago and as everyone knows you are never done! It wasn't the best built or looking but it was built by me and i couldn't be happier.
The fire: About a month ago a group of friends and i were having a little friendly race out in little Moab. About half way through the race my rear output nut (on the output shaft of a toyota t-case) came lose and fell off. The rear drive line spun once and flew off taking a fuel line out with it. Before we could stop the fuel was spraying on the exhaust and caught fire. I do believe the fire at this point could have been put out but my fire extinguisher holder was not a quick release and not a mount i would ever use now! It was a neoprene Velcro holder from 4 wheel parts. It holds very well but in a panic it is very hard to get out. So after me and Robby (supperfly) decided we couldn't get get the fire out and it was to dangerous to be close to the rig we ran to a safe distance and had to watch it burn. Meanwhile back at the start of the race my friends could see the fire and were on there way to help. With a quick response from so great friends we had the fire out in about 10 min and no one was hurt.
The rebuild: So with a lot of help from some great friends and sponsors i am going to rebuild and do a few things different. Such as relocating fuel lines and more assessable extinguishers. This is just a start but i would like to do this build and show product from some great company's that are willing to help out a little guy that caught some bad luck.
